Here at Reiff Farm Service we have been working on and rebuilding engines for over 40 years. Top to bottom, front to back diesel engines are heavy duty machines, capable of producing a ton of horse power.
The problem is, you are most likely not getting the full potential out of you engine.
Manufactures uses the same engine for many different applications and HP requirements. A good example is the John Deere 7230 tractor with a 6.8L turbocharged diesel engine with a rated HP of only 125. John Deere uses this same engine in the 7930 tractor which is rated at 220 HP. That is almost 100 HP more coming from the same engine. So what is the deal you may ask?
Simple. Instead of making a lot of different sized engines (which would be expensive) they use the same size engines in many different applications and the only difference is the fuel delivery parameters. So with the previous example of the JD 7230 tractor with only 125 HP, they take a big engine and simply restrict the fuel delivery.
So.... how does this info help us? Easy. You may be "pedaling" your tractor around the field all day instead of "driving" it.
From old mechanical fuel injection systems to modern HPCR Final Tier 4 engines we can help you get more "horses" under your hood.
So the answer is false. There IS a replacement for displacement!
